How to register as an advocate in E-Court portal?

Question: How to register as an advocate in E-Court portal?

Answer:

If you are an advocate whose mobile number and e-mail id is not registered in the Court CIS database (Here CIS means Case Information System), then you cannot complete the registration process.

So advocate who have not yet registered with the Court database, they should first of all immediately contact where they are practicing for registering their mobile number and their e-mail id in their Court CIS database and then start the registration process for e-filing to become a digital era advocate.

This tutorial will help you to know “How an advocate can become a Registered user in the e-filing portal   www.efiling.ecourts.gov.in “.

So let us start the tutorial

Visit e-filing portal www.efiling.ecourts.gov.in and become a registered user by following the following 10 steps.

But wait before getting started keep the following details ready with you because it is the time bound registration process which is needed to be completed within 18 minutes. So don’t starts the registration process without have the following details:

a.     Details of your mobile number as well as e-mail id which is registered with the Court CIS database.

b.     Details of your bar enrolment number.

c.      Digital Photo in Jpg/Jpeg format of size between 5KB to 5MB.

d.     Identity proof (Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Bar Registration Certificate of size between 5KB to 5MB).

e.     Smart phone/laptop with internet connection. 

Let us start the Registration Process:

Step 1: Visit www.e-filing.ecourts.gov.in in your browser.

               You will reach at the e-filing portal.

Step 2: Select your< State>

i.                    By clicking on the drop list( Here you select Punjab from the List if you doing practice in Punjab) or

ii.                  By clicking the State directly from the India map.( Here you can select the State Punjab from the India map)

Step 3: Click “Register” in the login page.

Step 4: Select the radio button “Advocate” in the registration form.

Step 5: Filling up the following details

a.     Mobile Number. (For example as my no. is 76963-17381)

b.     E-mail id. (For example ashishbhola786@gmail.com)

c.      Bar Registration No. of the Advocate. ( For example P/1421/2013)

d.     Choose User ID. ( your preferable choice like ASHISH KUMAR)

e.     Choose the Court where your mobile number and email id are registered with the Court software.

i.                    High Court

ii.                  District Court

f.       Enter the captcha.

g.     Click “Get OTP”.

Step 6: Check your registered mobile number and the registered email id for OTP.

You should receive two separate OTPs in your registered mobile number and on the registered e-mail id.

In some cases you may receive one OTP in your mobile number alone. In that case you do not worry just enter the OTP received in registered mobile number and process further.

Step 7: Verification:

Two OTP Verification:  If you have received 2 OTPs, then enter the OTPs received in your mobile number and the OTP received in your e-mail id in the respective entry bar and click  verify OTP.

                                                             OR

One OTP Verification: In some cases if you have received one OTP in your mobile number, then enter that OTP in the mobile OTP entry bar and click verify OTP.

Step 8: Fill other details

a.     Password [Password must contain minimum 8 digits and must include 1 uppercase character, 1 lowercase character, 1 number, 1 special character].

b.     Confirm Password

c.      First Name

d.     Last Name.

e.     Other contact number.

f.       Gender

g.     Date of birth [ DD/MM/YYYY]

h.     Address

i.        City

j.       State

k.     Pin Code.

Step 9: Upload your photo and ID:

a.     Just take a photo with your smart phone and upload your photo; or

b.     Upload the photo already taken and which is readily available in your laptop or mobile phone;

c.      Similarly just take a photo of your ID Card or scan your ID Card with your mobile phone using any mobile scan application.

d.     Upload the scanned copy or photo of the ID card which is readily available in your laptop or mobile phone.

e.     To upload the photo and ID card use Choose file option and before uploading the same ensure that your photo and the ID Card are in the format Jpeg/Jpg and in the size between 5KB to 5MB.

f.       Then you have to choose the type of ID card uploaded whether it is Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Bar Registration from the drop box option.

Step 10: Finally enters the Captcha Code given in the Box and click the “Register” button to complete the Registration Process?

     Congrats now you are registered successfully.
